Introduction to Playwriting for Radio Workshop

Interested in writing for radio, audio and podcast drama?

This fun, practical workshop will look at how to tell compelling stories through sound.

We'll look at key examples of great audio drama, mistakes to avoid, practical concerns like formatting and even make some mini audio plays as we go.

*NOTE: It will be helpful for this workshop if you have a device such as a mobile phone with which to record sound.

THIS WORKSHOP WILL TAKE PLACE ONLINE ON ZOOM. Once you purchase a ticket you will be emailed the Zoom link on the morning of the 20th.

Jon Nash is a playwright and theatre director based in the South West. He has an MA in Playwriting and Script Development from the University of Exeter which included a radio drama focus. He won the BBC Radio Wiltshire Playwrite! competition in 2006. His writing for radio has included 'Telling Tales' for Slovenian National Radio which was nominated for the 'Prix ex aequo' International Children's and Youth Radio Festival. Other recent credits include: 'Spice Box' and 'Rope Walks' for Plymouth Museum (The Box), 'Why Would You?' for Next Steps South West and 'Snarl' for Plymouth Conservatoire. He is currently writing short commissions for Theatre Royal Plymouth and Exeter City of Literature.
