Torbay Playwriting Bootcamp

In January 2022, Down Stage Write teamed up with Doorstep Arts and Torbay Libraries for a ‘Playwriting Bootcamp’ designed to give young writers the tools to write a short play.

Across two weekends at Paignton Library, young writers worked with Sam Parker and Tom Stockley on a range of exercises to explore how Stories work, how to build rich and detailed characters and specific considerations when writing for the stage

At the end of the workshops, writers were invited to submit their short play to Down Stage Write, and get written feedback from our team of professional script readers.
